How much energy is used to design and manufacture a wind turbine?
What would be the energy consumption to produce one wind turbine, taking into account absolutely everything, from the design engineer’s power consumption on his pc to the manufacture of metal or plastic parts to the to the energy consumption of the cement manufacture for the concrete base?
How long would it take for this turbine to produce a energy “payback” ?
What is the future of the energy industry?
Will we continue to rely on fossil fuels – are the OPEC nations being honest about their oil reserves? Is renewable energy really a viable solution to sustain our current level of energy demand? Will we have to resort to nuclear power, or is there another option?
Is dark energy a factor in calculating the age of the universe?
The discovery of dark energy must mean an accelerating universe would reach its observed size more quickly than a previously theorised decelerating universe due to gravity alone, especially if dark energy started to overwhelm gravity about 6 billion years ago. Does the much quoted figure of 13.7 billion years apply to a universe full of dark energy and dark matter?
